Liana Gevorgyan was born in 1989 in Kazan, Russia, and studied at Kazan Music school-college under Prof. Victor Stolov from 1996 till 2007. In 2007, she entered Kazan State Conservatory, again with prof. Victor Stolov. From 2010 to 2013, she was a student of Conservatorio superior de Musica del Liceu in Barcelona, with prof. Stanislav Pochekin. And from 2013 to present, she has been studying at University Mozarteum in Salzburg, under the guidance of Prof. Pavel Gililov. Even in her first piano competition – at the age of 8 – she won a prize, as she received 3rd Prize at Young Talents International Music Competition” in St. Petersburg. At 10, she came 4th in Young Talents International Piano Competition in Slovakia, and in 2001, she won Diploma and the Special Prize for the Best Performance of Mozart’s sonata in International piano competition named by B. Smetana in the Czech Republic. From then on, she has gone from victory to victory: In 2004 – 1st Prize at International Music Competition named by M. Yudina in St. Petersburg. In 2009 – 1st Prize at “Ciutat de Carlet” International Piano Competition, Spain. In 2011 – you guessed it, 1st Prize at “Vilafranca del Penedes” International Piano Competition, Spain. She did, however, “only” win the 2nd Prize at San Sebastian International Piano Competition in 2013 and at “Giuliano Pecar” International Piano Competition the following year, but returned as 1st Prize winner later that year at André Dumortier International piano competition in Belgium. She alsowon Yamaha Scholarship Award 2013/2014. Liana has vast international experience, and has performed solo recitals in both Russia, Austria, Spain and Belgium.
