1, 2, 3, Piano 2016

At the invitation of the Concours International André Dumortier, 14 portraits of young pianists (aged
12-19) attending a music academy in Wallonia Picarde were recorded by NoTélé in the church of
Grandmetz.
The portraits have been broadcast on NoTélé since May 18th, every Wednesday, with 2 being shown per
episode titled “1, 2, 3 Piano.”
As part of its commission for the compulsory work for the CIAD 2016, the Artistic Committee asked the
composer to create a short piece specifically for academy students. Therefore, the participants in the
recordings received the piece titled “Petit Ruisseau” by Haofu Zhang. They had the opportunity to perform
it publicly at the beginning of the semi-final sessions of the 2016 competition.
Eight of them have been invited to perform at the “Les (Rencontres) Inattendues” Festival in Tournai.
