At the invitation of the Concours International André Dumortier, 14 portraits of young pianists (aged
12-19) attending a music academy in Wallonia Picarde were recorded by NoTélé in the church of
Grandmetz.
The portraits have been broadcast on NoTélé since May 18th, every Wednesday, with 2 being shown per
episode titled « 1, 2, 3 Piano. »
As part of its commission for the compulsory work for the CIAD 2016, the Artistic Committee asked the
composer to create a short piece specifically for academy students. Therefore, the participants in the
recordings received the piece titled « Petit Ruisseau » by Haofu Zhang. They had the opportunity to perform
it publicly at the beginning of the semi-final sessions of the 2016 competition.
Eight of them have been invited to perform at the « Les (Rencontres) Inattendues » Festival in Tournai.
